Dupioni silk scarf - Print 2/22Feb20

A small dupioni silk scarf botanically printed on vintage silk off a narrow roll.  This is a sentimental piece printed on silk left over from making my own dress for my 21st party many years ago.  This piece was printed up in Dullstroom in the Highveld with quite different foliage from the Cape.  I've used crocosmia, which had just started to flower in February, along with the grey leaf spikes of eucalyptus gunni, so prized in flower arrangements and growing wild and unencumbered along the railway tracks in Dullstroom.  One of my favourite places to walk when I visit my parents there, and a good place to find treasures and take photos for my printmaking work.  

Finished with a 2.5 mm rolled hem.

Print 2/22Feb20 features eucalyptus and crocosmia in flower.
